Discourse on the theme. As explained in the Viveka Sutta and the Theranama Sutta, seclusion and solitude are parts of living alone. Living alone is perfected in its details when “the past is abandoned, whatever future is relinquished, and any passion and desire with regards to states of being attained in the present is well subdued. that is how living alone is perfected in its details.”
In this first video, Bhante Saranapala first outlines the retreat. Then the retreat begins by undertaking the 8 precepts (chanting in Pali followed by English recitation) and finally there is a short explanation of the meaning of the precepts.
